Local businesses rally to support Humane Society’s WoofBay Auction

The merchants and restaurants of Kenwood, Glen Ellen and Oakmont have stepped up heroically in a call to fund the care of animals rescued by the Sonoma Humane Society, which is producing an on-line auction starting on March 7. WoofBay Auction Co-Chairs Shannon Tracey and Michael Hogan have called the response of local businesses “an exceptional contribution to the underwriting and donations for the WoofBay auction during a climate of tough economic times.“

Kenwood businesses which have contributed to the cause to date include the Kenwood Farmhouse, Swede’s Feeds, Chateau St. Jean, Wildwood Farm, Caf Citti, Kunde Estate, Kenwood Vineyards, Lumina Technologies, Vineyards Inn and Vita Bella! Glen Ellen enterprises are Olive and Vine, Glen Ellen Inn, Gaige House, Saffron Restaurant, Garden Court Caf, Bluegrass, and the girl and the fig. Our northern neighbors in the Oakmont area include St. Francis Winery and Ledson Winery. Kenwood and Glen Ellen individuals who are donors include Jon and Susan Reiter, owners of Reiter Fine Homes, Paul and Kendra Kolling, owners of Nana Mae’s Organics, Karen and Eric Voegels, and Jennifer and Tom Anderson. Cash sponsors from the local area are Tom and Lisa Duryea, and Janet and Michael Hogan. Donations and sponsorships realized to date for the auction exceed $40,000. Donors also include over 100 other businesses throughout Sonoma County.

The auction will be exclusively on-line and will run for a 14-day period, featuring a truckload of fine art, luxury getaways, jewelry, dining and one-of-a-kind experiences. You can bid on a complete air/lodging stay in Sedona, Arizona, a diamond-set cat ring custom designed for WoofBay, a dinner with world-class mountain climber Jon Reiter, or a magnificent image of the Sahara Desert by Lisa Christine, along with 150 other dazzling items. New donors can still get onboard by contacting Michael at 415-420-1029. Bidders can preview the auction now by visiting sonomahumane.org and clicking the WoofBay icon.
