Oakmont Concert Series
Berger Center
Thursday March 11 - 1:30pm to
Cellist Angela Lee and pianist Lydia Artymiw will present an exciting mix of cello and piano compositions and piano solos on the stage of Berger Center in honor of the 20th Anniversary of the Oakmont Concert Series.
Lee and Artymiw met and performed at the Marlboro Music Festival in Vermont during the summer of 1998. Both have attained major international careers as performers, and both love to play chamber music.
The program focus is, of course, on the cello, and the two musicians have chosen sonatas by Prokofiev and Grieg, as well as four shorter pieces by Sibelius. Artymiw will perform three piano solos by Ukrainian composers, an Elegy by Lysenko, a Lullaby by Barvinsky, and a “Kolomvika Dance” by Kolessa.
This concert will take place on March 11, 1:30 at the Berger Center in Oakmont. All Oakmont residents and their guests are welcome to attend.
