Crime Watch



The following are some of the recent calls from the Glen Ellen and Kenwood area to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Sonoma Valley Substation.

April 20

At around 11:30 p.m., a resident of the 100 block of Hoff Road called to complain about a loud party at a nearby rental, possibly involving firecrackers. Deputies went out and had the party quiet down.

April 21

Deputies got a call from someone in the 14000 block of Carmel Ave. regarding an ex-girlfriend showing up despite a restraining order. It turned out the woman had not yet been served with a restraining order, so no charges could be filed.

At 6 p.m., deputies got a call regarding a suspicious vehicle parked in the 3000 block of Cavedale Road. Deputies contacted the driver, who said he was just enjoying the view.

A father in the 1000 block of Adobe Canyon Road called and said he was having some issues with his daughter and wanted a deputy to come out and speak to her. A deputy went to the home and had a discussion with the daughter.

April 22

At 12:45 a.m., deputies went out to the 1000 block of Hill Road regarding a loud music complaint. When they arrived, they couldn’t hear anything.

A resident in the 6000 block of Sonoma Mountain Road reported hearing five or six shots nearby. Deputies went out but could not locate the source of the gunshots.

April 26

Deputies went out to the 13000 block of Williams Road regarding a family disturbance. A woman who was contacted had been drinking, which turned out to be a violation of her probation. She was taken to jail.

April 27

A resident in the 13000 block of Williams Road called to report that she thought her ex-husband was defrauding her. The woman was told this was a civil matter.

A resident in the 100 block of Hill Road reported loud music at a neighbor’s house. Deputies went out and got the music turned down.

April 28

A Kenwood resident called to complain about a large, loud party at Shaw Park with over 100 people and a deejay. Deputies contacted the partiers who, it turned out, had a permit which allowed them to be there, and also to have music.

April 29

Part of a fence was torn down on property in the 15000 block of Sonoma Hwy. The reporting party said he wasn’t sure if the damage was done by an individual or some horses.

A caller living with his grandfather in the 1000 block of Dawn Hill Road reported that the grandfather had locked up all his possessions. Deputies went out to try to resolve the situation.

A motorist in the area of Arnold Dr. and Gibson St. called to report he had been following a drunk driver. Deputies went out but could not find the vehicle.

A deputy driving in the 10000 block of Sonoma Hwy. pulled over a vehicle going 70 miles per hour in a 55 zone. The deputy smelled alcohol and called the California Highway Patrol, which subsequently arrested a 33-year-old Sonoma man for DUI.

May 2

Deputies went out to the 14000 block of Arnold Dr. regarding a dispute between neighbors. One woman had accused another of taking her magazines. The situation was resolved.

May 4

A woman in the 900 block of Madrone Ave. reported that a man in a car with a camera on the dashboard appeared to be watching her. The car was gone by the time deputies arrived.

May 5

A fawn was stuck in a water basin along the 4000 block of Warm Springs Road. Animal control was called.

May 6

A woman and her children living on Burbank Dr. in Glen Ellen came into the substation. The woman said she was afraid her husband, who had just posted bail, was going to return to the home. The family then went to stay at a friend’s house.

May 7

Two shots were reported in the area of the 1000 block of Warm Springs Road. Deputies went out but could not find anything.
